I write. I think. I think. I narrate.

It seems almost impossible for this novel to take shape. I wrote it during confinement, in the middle of a pandemic, isolated in a room. The loneliness faded when I noticed movement between my feet. It was Tara. You know, that black mestizo almost the protagonist of my first novel. Amid so much loneliness, amid so much pain, Claudia and Dani appeared. A beautiful love story for troubled times. Initial idea. There it was. Later, it became a novel where life takes center stage. Absences, love, loneliness, fear.
Claudia and Dani are only part of this story. Because almost accidentally, almost because they forced me, more characters appeared. More people, I would say, who turned this novel into a choral work. These two young people are accompanied by Daniel and Paloma, Mario and Verónica, the parents; of Laura and Felix, friends. Also from
Agustín, the little brother, and Ernesto, who wants to be a father.
An imperfect love story with life as the protagonist.

This novel, today, is also yours. In fact, it wouldn't exist if I hadn't shared it with all those people who gave me a chance as a writer and who trusted in this novel.
Its protagonists wanted to tell me their story. I just listened. Helena Sabater had much to confess, and she did so filled with silence. Twenty-seven years when she abandoned her family, her job, and her best friend. When he starts a flight to a village far from everything and everyone. It seems like a story that we have heard, that perhaps we have already read before. Helena hid in a place similar to the gray of asphalt, the black of night. Everything she dreamed of was destroyed when her story, which is this novel, begins. When Andrés, a young man she met at university, made her his. Thus, with that possession that ends with a woman.
This is the story of a journey of no return, of a life that reaches you.
